...for your light has come

The devil is sending forth darkness in this hour but our God has sent forth Light Light Light! The darkness is expanding but the light is growing ever more radiant, and
the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. (Proverbs 4:18) Wherever light is found, the darkness will utterly flee. God is not wringing His hands in the heavens at the unfolding events on earth. He knows all things and He has made provision in this hour. He IS the all victorious one, who subdues His enemies under His feet..
These are the days of Isaiah 60:1-3
ARISE, SHINE FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME. And the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you. Nations will come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Church it is time for us to arise and shine!
I need to share an encounter I had with the Lord about a year ago. Initially I thought it was just for me… but literally just over the last week the Lord has added revelation, depth and meaning to it along with an urgency to release it to the church.
This is not just for me but for ALL who profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. So...
Jesus came and stood right next to me and He carefully and lovingly wrapped me in an exquisite fabric. It was like a sari with many layers, but it covered me like a cloak. The fabric was not like any fabric I had seen on earth. It had a weave like linen and was both gossamer light and weighty at the same time. I could barely feel this garment next to my skin but equally I felt totally covered and protected. The colour was unassuming. It was kind of a dull white but I could see that there were many layers to this white with myriad colours hidden within and woven into the fabric. I could see that when I turned and moved in certain ways I caught the glory and the majesty of the Lord and my dull cloak became alive with explosive bright dynamic light, and the colours that were hidden underneath were released like dazzling rainbows. It was like wearing diamonds.
I could also see that when I looked closely at the fabric it was made up of thousands of tiny words joined together like chain mail. It immediately reminded me of two things:
Frodo's mithril vest:
Frodo, the main protagonist from The Lord of The Rings, was given an armoured vest by the elves, made out of a precious and costly metal called mithril. It was incredibly lightweight but so robust that it could withstand even an orc sword. (Apologies to those who don’t have a clue what I'm talking about:)
It also reminded me of Daniel Bedingfield’s song ‘Wrap my words around you’.
At the time I was just so moved by this beautiful gift, but I didn't actually know what it was or understand the significance of it! And then last week I read this and the words leapt off the page and exploded in my spirit:
And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the ARMOUR OF LIGHT. Romans 13:11-12
The armour of light! I had never noticed this verse before! This was what the Lord had given me. He had wrapped me in His words / words that are so effective and powerful and altogether infused in light and truth that they became a protective armoured cloak all around me.
Friends, what are you wearing in this season?
It is imperative that we wear the right clothes at the right time; that we dress appropriately for the assignment at hand. I am not talking about fashion. Wearing the correct clothes when climbing mountains, or during combat is not a matter of looking good but staying alive!
We have to know the times we are in and the assignment that is at hand so that we can dress properly for it.
We are in a time where the Lord is waking up His beloved.
The hour has come and He is calling us out of our slumber. Out of our secret sins. Out of Sunday christianity. Out of our idolatry. Out of religion. Out of apathy. Out of an ineffective faith that places programmes ahead of Presence and doing ahead of being. He is calling us back to HIM, for in His presence there is FULLNESS of JOY! and there is a cry that is sounding forth from heaven that is beseeching the church to AWAKE.
We are in a time where a demonically fueled darkness is being unleashed across the earth in an unprecedented way for the devil knows His time is short.
The Coronovirus will go but the darkness will keep coming with a gathering momentum. Our enemy dwells in spiritual and moral darkness that ultimately descends into physical blackness. And it is not just ‘out there’ in a gloomy cloud we observe from afar, hovering over a distant horizon. It is not just someone else's problem, for wherever WE harbour and entertain sin, we are an open door for darkness to gain legal access into the very substance of our souls.
There is a profound urgency in my spirit that we must not be found asleep in this season.
In the physical realm there is a correlation between sleeping and darkness; in the realm of the spirit there is also a correlation between sleeping and darkness…, except this slumber and this darkness are spiritual and moral. In our slumber we are not awake to the things of God. We are not alert and we are not aware. We substitute religion for relationship, we excuse our sin and we become apathetic and deaf to His voice.
It is time to PUT ASIDE the deeds of darkness…
Francis Frangipane in his amazing book The Three Battlegrounds says this:
“The areas we hide in darkness are the very areas of our future defeat”…… “The greatest defense we have against the devil and darkness is to maintain an honest heart before God”
'Oh will you' Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139:23-24
It's time to get radical!! Not seeking to cover up but rather exposing the hidden sin and unrighteousness of our hearts, confessing our sins one to another and praying for each other so that we may be healed. James 5:16
Ephesians 5:13 tells us that:
everything exposed by the light becomes visible and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
Breathtaking!! Those very things that were once in darkness are now illuminated and become light!!!!! They BECOME light!!
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the lord. Ephesians 5:8
This is a cosmic piece of upcycling!!! Jesus takes what was once darkness and repurposes it as light!!!!
The degree to which we become light is not a measure of how good and well behaved we are but how much darkness we expose. Oh church… this is the grace of our God. He does not ask us in this hour to pull ourselves together, learn harder, turn up to the programmes more, get busier…. He asks us to humble ourselves and to bring our darkened, slumbering and heavy hearts to Him; to expose them and lay them bare in repentance so that He can shine in us and through us, flooding and illuminating us and our world with light!
It is time to PUT ON the armour of light...
...to clothe ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, with His words for Jesus IS the word and the entrance of his words gives light! Psalm 119:130
How do we wear His words??
Consider this verse:
He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil. Psalm 109:18
