The Rabshakeh and the Corporate Church

In Isaiah there is an account that tells of Assyrian envoys coming to the officials and people of Judah to mock and taunt them as a means to cripple them with terror and take them captive.


When Hezekiah the King of Judah hears of the threats brought against his people, he tears his clothes, puts on sackcloth and says:


This day is a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the moment of birth and there is no strength to deliver them. 2 Kings 19:3 / Isaiah 37:3

The modus operandi of Assyria is control, intimidation and fear. This is a type of the antichrist spirit. The names of the envoys are The Rabshakeh, The Rabsaris and The Tartan. Their names reveal their spirit and their strategy.


The Assyrian spirit is operating strongly in the church today. Its seeks to shut you down and prevent the bringing forth of the new. So many of you know that you carry something of significance in your spirit, you know that, like Esther you have been called to the kingdom for such a time as this, and yet you are have no strength to bring forth what is in you because you have listened to a spirit that says ‘you have nothing to bring, you are not important, they don’t want what you have’ etc…


When we come under this spirit we get stuck in intimidation and crippling fear.


I know what this is like! I lived in this place for years, listening to this spirit and agreeing with it!


But know this beloved… it is essential that you bring forth that which has been conceived in you by the Holy Spirit, because this is your portion of the revelation of Jesus. No one else can do what God has called you to do. Your portion is not optional. It is needed. YOU are needed! The Lord is Wilding His church and setting His sons in place! He is maturing His Ecclesia so that it becomes the mature body of Him who is the head. This is how He has chosen to reveal Himself, through you and through me, as we step into mature sonship.


And so I release strength into you! To be all He has called you to be! He gives strength to the weak and power to the powerless. He clothes with capability those whom He has chosen.


And I pray the prayer of Ephesians 3 over you:


I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19
